Big Bang for Little Buck
I've only had my ViewSonic PJD5123 one day, which is a little premature for reviewing, but with only one review posted, I thought another would be helpful. I actually made my purchase on that review's recommendation, since I could find no others.First, let me say that my purchase was largely price-driven. I figured I'd have to buy a used projector, but the low price Amazon charged was the hook that caused me to bite on this brand-new one. My second criterion was that it had to work with a Mac; it does! I did have to purchase an extra cable for my Macbook Pro unibody ($29.99 from Apple). I could have gotten a third party cable for much less (and may still do that for a backup), but the reviews on them were not as favorable as those on the Apple one.So I took the plunge, even paying an extra $4 (Amazon Prime) to have it delivered in two days. It arrived on time and I found everything in the box as advertised. The written documentation is worthless, but...

An economical solution
The ViewSonic PJD5123 Projector is an effective and economical solution for movie viewing and PowerPoint presentations. Projecting from 25' it creates a bright 8' wide image. I connect it to a laptop with Bose Companion 2 Series II computer speakers creating an exceptional audio video experience. I use a Logitech wireless mouse to control presentations. You may need a case for the projector and possibly a longer video cable than the 6' cable provided. I am completely satisfied with the quality and performance of the projector and would recommend it to anyone in the market.

AMAZING projector
After shopping around and purchasing a few "cheap" projectors I realized that I needed to bight the bullet and buy something a bit more expensive. I did a ton of research and for my price point of around $300 I found this projector. I was a bit skeptical as I have had no luck with projectors recently and was nervous about throwing down so much money. Rest assured, this projector is worth it! I wanted a nice affordable movie projector for backyard movie nights with friends. Trying to find one that provided a great picture along with being affordable is no easy task. But this model is fantastic. I can't get over how crisp the picture is. And we use nothing but a white sheet pinned between two hammok posts. Even in a room with mid day sun the picture is still bright and clear. The fan is not too loud and the controls are very easy to work. My only concern is that finding the right connection for my macbook 5,1 unibody has been a hassle. We connected it to a cheap dvd player and it...

Skeptical at first, but satisfied.
I purchased the projector for my son's birthday party sleepover. We wanted to have his guest play the Wii outside on the garage door. The delivery was FAST. Set up was easy. The day of the party, I just knew something would go wrong with it......but it didn't. The graphics are awesome in the dark. The input for sound is standard. When you increase the volume too high you hear a humming sound. That problem is fixable. My husband plugged in a speaker that we had in the basement and the kids went wild with the sound and graphics. The projector is compatible with our Wii, PS3, and dvd player. We don't have the Xbox 360 so I don't know how well it would work with that system. Overall I was a bit skeptical, but we are throughly satisfied with the projector.

I read the negative reviews all over the web about this projector, and was nervous to even try it. Well, it was on sale on Black Friday, so I took the plunge. I'm so glad I did, because it performed better than I was expecting.YES, the image is grainy if you make the image size 6-8 feet across.YES, the produced image is a little less bright than what you would normally expect from a movie theater projector.But, this product is perfectly good enough to watch some kids movies on the wall, or play some video games all blown up. I watched a couple of movies, and feel like I made a great purchase.One other thing to realize- When you project a movie and wind up with a 6-8 foot wide image, you will think it looks grainy just like you do when you sit one foot in front of a television.Put this projector on maximum distance from the wall, then move back as far back from the movie as possible, and you will see that the farther away...

get what you pay for
i got this for the purpose of showing movies or playing games outside on nice summer nights. the resolution is low, focus is iffy, and screen image gets nowhere near 10' as the box states without fading too much. speaker is terrible, but you can direct the sound cables to a stereo or something that produces better quality.high quality projectors cost $100 to RENT. low-end HQ projectors are roughly 10x the price to buy. this is an insanely cheap projector and does everything it should be expected to do at that price. the a/v inputs are versatile, and most types of computers/games/dvd players/vcrs etc. can use them (or have adapters available). used properly, it functions adequately. it's not near perfect, but it's a totally fair budget option, and those who feel that it isn't have way too strong a sense of entitlement.

Fits everything, but more importantly fits a 17" laptop with no problem. Also allows me to carry a second laptop and my iPad. Or enough clothing for a night or two.Had a damaged zipper when I received the case. I contacted Amazon, They told me to contact the manufacturer. I was very surprised when they contacted the manufacturer for me. I received all the instructions and forms, took some pictures, emailed them in with my form, and within week I had a replacement case.This speaks highly of Amazon and Case Logic.
